This is a quote by Martin
Luther:
I wish to see all arts,
and principally music,
in the service of Him who
gave and created them.
I would not for all the
world forego my humble share
of music.
Singers are never sorrowful,
but merry, and smile through
their troubles in song.
Music makes people kinder,
gentler, more staid and
reasonable.

I am strongly persuaded that
after theology
there is no art that can be
placed on a level with
music;
for besides theology, music
is the only art
capable of affording peace
and joy of the heart.
It is the art of the
prophets,
the only one which can calm
the agitations of the soul.
The gift of language
combined with the gift of
song
was given to man that he
should show forth
the Word of God through
music. |

Thank you Lord that Luther
was right
when he said that:
“the devil flees before
the sound of music
faster than from anything
else
apart from the Word of God”
– so we have put music
and the Word of God together
in this long running series
of poetic journeys.

We pray reawakening in every
part of our heart. |

In the midst of great shifts
help Your friends ‘not to
let Your grace go to waste’
1
but to comprehend the drift
of significant trends
as You usher us towards the
world without end. |

Then He who was seated on
the throne said, |
|
|
“I am recreating all
things.”

|
|
|
Write this down,
for these words
are trustworthy
and true.
|
|
|
The end of all things is near
as I wrap up this earthly
dispensation.
Therefore be earnest and
disciplined,
and above all clear-minded and
self-controlled
so that you can pray.

For behold, I create new
heavens
and a new earth,
and all the former troubles
shall not be remembered.

Be glad and rejoice forever
in that which I create;
for behold,
I create Jerusalem to be a
joy,
and her people to be a
gladness.
They shall not labour in
vain,
or bear children for
calamity,
for they shall be the
offspring
of the blessed of the LORD,
and their descendants with
them.
Before they call I will
answer;
while they are yet speaking
I will hear.
