Extract from a prophetic word for Jersey
given by Brian Mills in 2000.

Go to the islands! They are not insignificant . . . I have a purpose for them all. Jersey, though you are small, you have been entrusted with much wealth and riches. I want to unlock this from the chains which hold it. It is not to make you wealthy and to give you a name, but so that you can be a blessing to other nations, other peoples and other islands.

Do not say you have an island mentality – every land is an island in the oceans of the world. For as the knowledge of My glory will fill the earth as the waters cover the sea, so will my glory be over you. But you must unlock that which is hidden away. My kingdom requires it, and My kingdom will never pass away . . . My body, in unity, working together, will be the head, and not the tail. I will be exalted in your land over all the devices and delusions of the enemy, over every demonic power and deity, over all his diversions and counterfeits. I will be exalted over all.

    Jersey though you are small, though you are an island, you have been entrusted with much wealth and riches, and God wants to entrust more to you as you seek His face. He wants His glory to fill this island. This is God’s time – and He is bringing something to birth, for His glory and His praise.  

 

Prophecy for the Islands.

God would say to the Islands – do not fear that you will be missed. For God has given you specific promises so do not forget them. For the mouth of the Lord has decreed that certain things will be happen – and because the mouth of the Lord has spoken it – it WILL be . . . because I HAVE spoken these things so they will definitely come to pass!

For these islands will be the places that make fire. In the islands I have hidden for myself the secret weapons that will light sparks that will set alight the main lands. From the islands to the nations, these sparks of fire will spread. For out of the small place I have chosen to start the sparks fire that will cause great fires of revival. Just as in the natural many of the islands carry in their hidden geography the power of volcanoes and fire, as in the natural so in the spiritual. In these islands I have hidden for myself a centre where I will make fire on the earth. These islands will become a furnace where I will make fire for the last days. Even though there are small beginnings they will trigger mighty fires of revival.

For God says I will take the small things to confound the large- the forgotten places to provoke the wealthy. I will use the islands like keys in my hands to unlock nations and continents. From the islands will come the sound of praise and war because God will be in the land.
 
  Peter Stott:  “Prepare yourself for revival in Jersey, and Islands around, to pray and seek the Lord and have faith to step out and to put the Lord’s plans in motion …the Islands will be used as stepping stones into Europe…”

Jersey is to be a light for the nations and a beacon of hope”

  
  Joy Chalke:  Alluding to the example of how forest fires ‘jump’ she felt that “so it would be here . . . fire would jump from Jersey to the adjoining nations”.  
  Aimee Bond (Jersey 1st Jan 2008): “I had a picture of a forest that was on fire. The fire was burning and producing a lot of heat. From the forest came many petrol trails that were being ignited. They were igniting quickly and setting off in all directions. More and more petrol trails were being prepared ready to ignite . . . This year will be a year of ignition in the church and a year of ignition personally if we expect and wait on God to move.”  
 
  Guy Rothwell: I saw Jersey emerging as a huge volcano. It was erupting in a particular way, firing salvos of lava over the nations. The salvos represent the specific focal points of intercession for the different nations. As the lava hits its targets, it first of all brings a refining fire that burns up the dross, and then after a time lapse the places where the lava lands become fertile ground, with new plants springing up.  
  Jackie Smith (Feb 2008): “This year the ‘Son’ will shine on Jersey – watch and enjoy.”  
    When Bible teacher and author Campbell McAlpine visited the island, he heard God saying, “Do you believe that I can do in the island of Jersey what I did in the Hebridean revival in the island of Lewis? “    

There followed the words,

“I have begun to give:
you begin to possess.”

And then the simple word,

“Declaration.”

 Deborah Green, Director of City Links, had a dream recently that impressed her greatly but made no sense to her at the time.

‘I saw a gathering, a conference. Numbers of people had gathered from the Islands to seek God for His redemptive purposes for the Isles. As people began to pray, the anointing fell. There was such a blessing being released because the islands had come together in unity.

I saw specifically a connection with Scotland . . . As they [presumably the people from the Scottish link] joined forces with the people in the Channel Islands . . . the anointing fell on Jersey and it began to rise into its full anointing.'

I believe this dream, which only made sense to Debra when Mike Field, told her about Fire from the Isles, is a very significant one.

Earlier this year, Mike and Pat Field (prayer leaders on the island) shared about the conference at the Prayer Association of the British Isles and Ireland, where there was a strong feeling that this weeklong prayer and worship conference would ‘complete’ the work begun in Shetland in 2005 at Fire from the North. 		 

1 Thessalonians 5.24 says: “ The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it.”

Please pray for God to really use this conference in mighty ways – not least to help fulfil these words.
